Which strategies should be used for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease?



     Cardiovascular disease (CVD) places a large burden on society globally, and effective strategies for primary and secondary prevention are vital to help cope with this. A large number of pharmacological interventions exist for combating CVD, with potential for limiting death and disability from CVD. In the last decade, there have been major advances in both treating and managing the risk factors that cause CVD, in the form of large randomized controlled clinical trials. These advances have had a huge impact on how clinicians should use particular treatments for specific conditions.
