As day after day flies by, in
these increasingly hectic
times, we are busily occupied
in the office, in the ward, or
in the lab, treating patients or carrying
out research, wielding stethoscopes,
pills, test tubes, electrocardiographs,
and the other paraphernalia of our
trade, reassuring an anxious parent, or
breathlessly dashing off to apply the
paddles to resuscitate a patient who’s
turned blue—in short, up to our ears
in cardiological pursuits...
