Conflicts of Interest

Dialogues in Cardiovascular Medicine is committed to maintaining transparency, integrity, and objectivity in scholarly publishing. The journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the disclosure and management of conflicts of interest.

All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, the conduct, interpretation, or publication of research.

Authors

Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Employment or institutional affiliations
  • Research grants or funding
  • Consultancy or advisory roles
  • Honoraria or speaker fees
  • Stock ownership or equity interests
  • Patents or patent applications
  • Personal, academic, or professional relationships that could influence the research

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include the following statement:

"The authors declare that they have no competing interests or conflicts of interest related to this work."

Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers with conflicts that may affect their impartiality should decline the invitation to review. All manuscripts and associated information must be treated as strictly confidential.

Editors

Editors and Editorial Board members must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a personal, professional, financial, or institutional conflict of interest. Such manuscripts will be assigned to an independent editor to ensure an unbiased editorial decision.

Editorial Oversight

The Editorial Office evaluates all disclosed conflicts of interest and, where necessary, implements appropriate measures to preserve the integrity, fairness, and transparency of the peer-review and publication process. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may result in manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, or retraction in accordance with COPE recommendations.
