Editorial Responsibilities
The Editorial Office is responsible for:
- Conducting an initial editorial screening to assess the manuscript's suitability, originality, completeness, and compliance with the journal's policies.
- Managing a fair, independent, confidential, and timely peer-review process.
- Selecting qualified reviewers with appropriate subject expertise while avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Ensuring editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- Monitoring reviewer performance and maintaining the quality and integrity of peer review.
- Providing editorial assistance to authors throughout the submission, revision, and publication process.
- Performing professional language editing, copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and reference verification before publication.
- Preparing accepted manuscripts for final production, including metadata, DOI assignment, PDF and XML generation, and online publication.
- Compiling and publishing journal issues according to the established publication schedule.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and protecting authors' intellectual property.
- Ensuring compliance with publication ethics, including policies on plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, authorship, conflicts of interest, and ethical approval where applicable.
- Managing corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, and appeals in accordance with COPE guidance.
- Promoting editorial independence and ensuring that commercial or financial interests do not influence editorial decisions.
- Preserving the integrity and long-term accessibility of the published scholarly record through recognized digital preservation practices.
- Continuously improving editorial workflows and publishing standards in accordance with international best practices.
Editorial Decision Process
Editorial decisions are based on the quality, originality, scientific validity, ethical compliance, clinical significance, and relevance of the submitted work. Acceptance is never influenced by the authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, ethnicity, religion, or funding source.
